Phoenix Lodge 154 is located at 1009 Main Street in downtown Sumner, Washington 98390. Our mailing address is PO Box 1601, Sumner WA 98390. The lodge is a part of the Sumner community. Our stated meeting is the second Wednesday of each month with a dinner at 6:30 pm and the meeting at 7:30pm. In June, the lodge meets on the first Wednesday. Please join us.

Entered Apprentice Degree for Vance Rifenberick

On January 5th, 2022, Phoenix Lodge welcomed our newest Entered Aprentice Mason, Vance Rifenberick.

We welcome him to Phoenix Lodge and we look forward to a long association.

Widow's Pin presenbted to Alice Hammontree

On December 7th, 2021 Brother Miles Stover presented Alice Hammontree with her Widow's pin and certificate on behalf of Phoenix Lodge. Alice is the widow of VW Bill Hammontree, who passed to the Celestial Lodge in March 2020. VW Bill was a Past Master of Phoenix Lodge and served as Secretary for 27 years.

Brother Miles worked closely with VW Bill at Seattle Scottish Rite and with both Bill and Alice at Eastern Star. Thank you for being able ti make this presentation on behalf of the Lodge

On Saturday, December 4,2021, Phoenix Lodge held its Installation of Officers for 20222. Pictured above are the new officers installed for the calendar year 2022 led by WB Scott Thompson. This is the first installation in two years. We wish them the best in their year as leaders of our Lodge

Entered Apprentice Jason Sams

On October 20, Phoenix Lodge held an Entered Apprentice Degree for Mr. Jason Sams. In attendance at the Degree were Jason's two brothers. Brother Travis Sams presented EA Jason with his apron during the Degree.

On Wed, Oct 6th, Jake Sawyer became a new member of Phoenix Lodge when he received his Entered Apprentice Degree. He is pictured here with the conferring Master for the degree, WB Scott Thompson. Congratulations to Brother Sawyer. Jake is the second new member initiated in the space of one week.

Laurie Gilman presented a Widow's Pin

WM Chris Hartman presented Laurie Gilman with her Widow's Pin. Her husband, Michael Gilman, was a 15 year member of Phoemix Lodge. He passed away in March 2020 but we were unable to present this pin until now due to COVID restrictions. Our condolences to Laurie on the loss of Brother Michael.

WB Rick Mosier honored for 25 years as a Mason

WB Rick Mosier was honored at the August Stated Meeting by acting Master Russ Sutton for his 25 years of service to the Masonic Fraternity. He originally joined Parkland-Lakewood Lodge in 1995 and affiliated with Phoenix Lodge in 1999. He served as Master of Phoenix Lodge in 2005.

Congratulations to WB Rick and thank you for your service to Masonry over the years.

MW Cameron Bailey Installed as Grand Master of Masons in Washington

On June 12, MW Cameron Bailey was installed as Grand Master of Masons in Washington at the Annual Communication held in Wenatchee Washington.

We wish MW Cameron great success in his time as Grand Master and we look forward to having him visit us in the near future.

Normal Stated Meetings have returned.

The Grand Master MW Cameron Bailey has directed that Masonic Lodges resume their activities subject to the restrictions of State and Local Government for dealing with COVID-19.

Phoenix Lodge has already held in person meetings in May and June. We will continue with our July Stated Meeting on July 14. At this time, we are awaiting direction from the State of Washington on our ability to serve meals prior to our meetings.

We will continue to use the ZOOM platform to make the business meeting available for those who can not attend in person.

We look forward to seeing you in July.

2021 Outstanding Junior Scholarship Awards Announced

Phoenix Masonic Lodge is pleased to announce the results of the 2021 Outstanding Junior Scholarship program for the Sumner - Bonney Lake School District. This program annually accepts applications from Juniors at the two high schools in the District. The award is given to well rounded students based not only on academics, but also on activities in the school as well as in the community. The finalists represent outstanding young individuals who represent the future.

Among the finalists, two students from each school receive a scholarship to be used for their college educations.

Mark Conlee reappointed Deputy of Grand Master in District 15

VW Mark Conlee has been reappointed Deputy of the Grand Master in District 15 by MW Cameron Bailey. He will assist the Grand Master with the five lodges which are part of District 15. Congratulations to VW Brother Conlee.

65 years as a Master Mason

Recently, WM Chris Hartman was joined by WB Bob Chute and WB Mark Conlee to award a 65 year pin and card to WB Bill Cope at his business in Orting. Brother Cope was raised in Valley Lodge 71 in July 1955. He served as Worshipful Master of Valley Ondge 71 in 1967. He has owned Cope Pharmacy in Orting for many years.

On Friday, January 22, Jeremy Weymeyer was raised to the Sublime degree of Master Mason. WB Todd O'Day conferred the degree with a cast consisting of many members of the Lodge

Phoenix Lodge Receives Award from Sumner-Bonney Lake School District

On November 13, 2019, Phoenix Lodge was awarded the "Golden Apple" award by the Sumner-Bonney Lake School Board. This award is given to Community organizations for their support of the educational objectives in the district. The district cited several Lodge programs in support of the district.

This year, Phoenix Lodge's Bikes-for-Books program again provided two bikes to each of 11 elementary schools in the Sumner-Bonney Lake and the Orting school districts. This program, which promotes reading by students, awards a new bike to one boy and one girl at each school based on completing reading skills as determined by the school staff. The selection of the winners takes place at the end of the school year as a random drawing from the names of all qualifying students.

Congratulations to all of the winners and to all of the students who participated in the program. A special thanks to the brothers who spend their time obtaining the bikes, placing the bikes in the schools and attending the awarding of the winners.

Phoenix Lodge Nominated for Community Impact Award

Unsung Hero Award

Phonix Lodge received notification that it was nominated for the Community Impact/Unsung Hero Award by the Summner-Boney Lake Area Communities for Families Coalition, a part of the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District 320.

This nomination is a recognition of the efforts of the Lodge through our Bikes For Books Program, our Middle School Library Program, and our Outstanding Junior Scholarship Program. We thank the Coalition for this recognition of our efforts on behalf of the children of the Sumner-Bonney Lake area.

New Chair Lift Installed

The long anticipated chair lift is now installed and operational. Seen here, WB Bill Hart is giving it a full fledged try out. The Chair Lift was instigated during WB Bill's term as Master of Phoenix Lodge # 154. The lift should make it much easier for members who need assistnace with stairs to join the activities of the temple.
